Not that anyone in power in either party much cares about racism, the poor, the country, the species, or anything else, really, other than spreading their legs for donors to get more power, more money, and a slicker, fatter CV. But the point is that the center of power is corporate, and thus inescapably rightwing, and that's the deal. Of course, Sophisticated Professional-Class Liberals think that tone-policing is the Alpha and Omega of "left-wing." You pretend to be for something actually economically non-rightwing, but bemoan the reactionary country (which wants, for example, universal healthcare by wide margins, including 52% of current, 90%-Trump-approving Republicans), and continue watching their 401(k)s skyrocket.
That's their role. Our role is to remove the Clintonistas and rightwing Democrats from power. Pretty simple.
